Alleged D.C. Madam Gets New Judge

WASHINGTON -- A new judge has been assigned for the alleged D.C. Madam's upcoming federal trial for racketeering and money laundering.

Court documents show Judge Gladys Kessler has been replaced, without explanation, by the committee responsible for maintaining the court calendar.

Kessler requested she be removed from the case because of possible schedule conflicts, says Shelly Snook, administrative assistant from the chief judge of the U.S. District Court.

"She was not sure the case would be tried promptly," Snook says.

Kessler did not return a call for comment.

Palfrey's attorney had asked earlier that Kessler remove herself from the case, but she declined.

On Thursday, Palfrey served subpoenas for White House and Republican National Committee records.

Palfrey's attorney Montgomery Blair Sibley tells WTOP Palfrey has maintained her prosecution is politically motivated, and she has reason to believe White House interference played a role in the decision to prosecute his client.

Four questions:

1. What is the real reason why Judge Kessler abruptly removed herself from the case just after her ruling to cancel hearing with Senator Vitter?

2. What documents are Palfrey's attorney seeking from the White House and the Republican National Committee in relation to the case?

3. What kind of interference has the White House been accused of in Palfrey's case?

4. What are the connection politically with the White House, RNC, and Palfrey's case?

Those questions will be explored. Have a great weekend folks!!!

The Judge had to step down because of the mistakes she's been making in this case. A Judge has to follow the law and this Judge showed she was working for the Government. She wasn't good at covering up. Now I see this case dropped because a new Judge will have to start from the beginning. Now what's interesting is the involvement of the White House.
