When the investigator is under investigation.

ADMINISTRATION -- WHITE HOUSE INVESTIGATES HEAD OF ROVE INQUIRY: The Wall Street Journal reports today that Office of Special Counsel chief Scott Bloch, who is "investigating Karl Rove's White House political operation, is facing allegations that he improperly deleted computer files during another probe, using a private computer-help company, Geeks on Call." His acts could be considered obstruction of justice. The allegations claim that Bloch "erased all the files on his office personal computer late last year." Bloch has previously investigated "the firing of at least one U.S. attorney, missing White House e-mails, and White House efforts to keep presidential appointees attuned to Republican political priorities." The White House has ordered an investigation into claims that Bloch "improperly retaliated against employees and dismissed whistleblower cases without adequate examination." Bloch "believes the White House may have a conflict of interest in pressing the inquiry into his conduct while his office investigates the White House political operation."

Folks, this is basically old news. You now understand why the Justice Dept. didn't have Bloch removed from investigating Rove from the get-go. This tells you how corrupted the Justice Dept. is under former AG Gonzo. Also, the media is asleep at the wheel about Bloch. Jason Leopold reported Bloch being under investigation in April 2007:

Rove Investigator Himself Under Investigation

A federal investigation into the political activities of Karl Rove, announced late Monday, is being headed by a Bush appointee who is currently the target of an internal White House probe - calling into question the integrity of the administration's efforts to conduct an independent review of Rove's work as White House political adviser.

The news underscores how deeply the Bush administration is mired in scandal.

Scott J. Bloch, who heads the Office of Special Counsel, told the Los Angeles Times Monday that his office will launch a wide-ranging investigation into Rove's involvement in the firings of eight US attorneys, his behind-the-scenes work to influence elections, and his use of a Republican National Committee email account to conduct official White House business, in what appears to be a violation of the Presidential Records Act.

However, the Los Angeles Times failed to inform its readers that Bloch had been accused of retaliating against employees who disagreed with his policies, and intimidating them before they were questioned about a whistle-blower investigation inside the Office of the Special Counsel. The whistle-blower probe was launched by the White House's Office of Personnel Management inspector general nearly two years ago, according to a February 16, 2007 story in the Washington Post.

On a side note: I had posted Bloch's info back in April and September. See HERE and HERE and HERE.

What else could we expect from the White House. Now next we'll hear that the investigators investing the investigators that they can't get the information as they too destroyed the information. This is like asking a criminal to had the million dollars for two days. Knowing he will be gone in two minutes. Waxman knows what he has to do as these guys are idiots and really don't know what their doing.
