Durbin and Whitehouse will oppose Mukasey’s nomination.

Thinkprogress:

In an impassioned speech on the Senate floor today, Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse (D-RI), a member of the Judiciary Committee, said he “will oppose” the nomination of Michael Mukasey to be Attorney General because of his refusal to explicitly say that waterboarding is torture.

UPDATE: Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) sent Mukasey a letter today, co-signed by Sens. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) and John Warner (R-VA), indicating support for his nomination

Speaking of Durbin, I was listening to news radio in Chicago, and some school banned political costumes (I don't remember what school district) and someone called in and said well doesn't everyone want to go as Dick Durbin? (He is well liked in this state)

Lindsay Graham better send a letter to Larry Flynt and ask him not to report that fact that he's gay. As for Warner he's riding the wave. McCain is so deep in the cow dun he will support anything Bush/Cheney said.

Mike will wish he had stayed home when this comes to a head. All the secrets are coming out not in the US Media but the London Times for all the world to see and read.
