Democracynow.org: Study: Wars in Iraq & Afghanistan Cost $1.5 Trillion.
A new study by Congressional Democrats estimates the total economic costs to the United States of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan now total approximately $1.5 trillion dollars. The study estimates the "hidden costs" of the conflict including higher oil prices, the expense of treating wounded veterans and interest payments on the money borrowed to pay for the wars. The Washington Post reports this amount is nearly double the $800 billion the White House has spent or requested to wage the wars through 2008. The report estimates that the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan have thus far cost the average U.S. family of four more than $20,000.

Merry Christmas, Happy New Year and your gift is a bill from the IRS for 20,000 dollars you owe for the illegal invasion. Yes Blackwater is doing just great and those who received the propaganda money will be smiling. Now as for the Middle East they are saying Thank You America we will enjoy the money we got from the White House. For those Americans who can't make their mortgage payments you will not have a home. But you must pay the IRS bill even if you don't make enough money or if you lose your job. Now remember the Vets who are jobless and homeless after returning from Iraq they will have to paid that 20,000 dollar bill too.
