TEHRAN (Fars News Agency)- A group of British lawmakers, currently on a visit to Tehran, reiterated Iran's right to possess nuclear technology in a meeting with their Iranian counterparts, a prominent Iranian lawmaker said.
The head of the British parliamentary delegation reiterated Iran's right to possess nuclear technology several times during the meeting," rapporteur of the Iranian parliament's National Security and Foreign Policy Commission Kazem Jalali told FNA following a meeting between the two sides here in Tehran on Monday.
"In this session, the British MPs raised questions about Iran's nuclear case as well as Iraq and Afghanistan's issues," he said, adding that during the two-hour-long meeting, the two sides have raised their points and stances very transparently and explicitly.
"We are not seeking to end Iran's nuclear activities as we believe access to nuclear technology is Iran's right," Jalali quoted the head of the visiting British parliamentary delegation as saying.
Jalali said that the British legislators have laid much emphasis on the necessity of confidence-building. "For their part, the Iranian parliament members also briefed the other side about the confidence-building measures already adopted by Tehran."
"During the session, members of the (Iranian parliament's) National Security Commission reminded that confidence-building is not a one-way road and that our nation has many ambiguities and questions about the (performance of the) western, particularly American and British, statesmen," Jalali added.
He said that the Iranian legislators have also reminded their British counterparts that Tehran has already adopted many confidence-building measures, including the suspension of its nuclear activities, following the Paris agreement "but western countries, including the US and Britain, misinterpreted nuclear suspension as an end to Iran's nuclear activities instead of reciprocating Iran's positive moves".
"In response the British parliamentary delegation told us that they were not seeking to end Iran's nuclear activities, that they recognized Iran's right to access nuclear technology and that they viewed talks and negotiations as the way to solve the nuclear case," Jalali added.
According to Jalali, the two sides have also had a detailed discussion of Iraq and Afghanistan's issues.
The 11-member delegation of the British MPs arrived in Tehran this morning.
During their five-day visit which takes place at the invitation of the chairman of the Iranian parliament's National Security and Foreign Policy Commission, Alaoddin Boroujerdi, the British legislators are scheduled to meet with different Iranian governmental and parliamentary officials to discuss bilateral ties, parliamentary cooperation and Tehran's nuclear case and exchange views about Middle-East and international issues.

I emailed PM Brown and told him to stay as far away from the Bush Administration as possible and wait for the new US President before visiting again. I also told him to look at the Bush Administration's record of lies and criminal acts and remember Tony Blair was paid well for his support and his son was given a job in the US Government for following Bush/Cheney's direction.
As for Iran I told the PM that the US illegally gave Pakistan, India and Israel Nuclear weapons. Iran has every right to have nuclear plants for energy. Even the French President agrees that Iran has the right to energy for their citizens. The US is only selling propaganda so they can invaded Iran and steal their oil.
There is no poodle in Britan any more, now they are working and meeting in Tehran, obviously Cheney's heart is holding up good because this should have made it skip a few beats.
