You don't say??? And Al-Queda told you this? And how come Al-Queda is not targeting Macy's in New York and other states? Is Al-Queda going to attack after Christmas sale? This is getting ridiculous. Next thing you know FBI will tell us that Al-Queda may target the Superbowl game...
Update: California is downplaying the FBI warning.
The warning, contained in an FBI memo to local law enforcement agencies that was declassified Thursday, said the terror network "hoped to disrupt the U.S. economy and had been planning the attack for the past two years."
Federal and local officials downplayed the significance of the warning. The memo, known as an intelligence information report, was given to authorities in Chicago and Los Angeles "out of an abundance of caution," FBI Special Agent Richard Kolko said.
"Al-Qaida messaging has clearly stated they intend to attack the U.S. or its interests," Kolko said. "However, there is no information to state this is a credible threat."
Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa urged residents to go about their daily routines but remain vigilant and "mindful of anything out of the ordinary."
Update 2 : Chicago is downplaying the FBI warning:
Arthur Everett, assistant special agent-in-charge of the FBI's Chicago office, said the threat contained no specific targets and amounted to "third-hand information."Officials said that similar warnings have been issued in the past and that the FBI had been aware of the potential threat for several weeks.
A tip of this kind is inherently difficult to completely discount or verify," Everett said at a news conference at Chicago police headquarters. "Yet, in an abundance of caution, the FBI has alerted fellow law enforcement entities to be extra vigilant. . . . What we ask now is simply that the public remain vigilant, as it has in the past."
Yup, an old warning memo that FBI found in the garbage to revamp another hype message of an Al-Queda attack.

Yes recycled memos to put the fear in the American people. In 1998 Bill Clinton gave a breaking news report about Al Qaeda attacking one of our major cities. Now the GOP brushed it off and the American people kept talking about Monica's dress. Yes even the Media brushed the message off. Bush took office he too brushed off the message of the enemy using planes to attack a major city.
Now the same memo's are being released as new. This shows that the White House and Media know just how dumb Americans are and will believe anything even a recycled lie.

As the White House ask for more money and Americans can't keep their homes or jobs the World is watching.

Jackie, Chicago is also downplaying the FBI warning hype. I updated the posting.

Chicago downplayed this so much they didn't even bother to get the usual spokesperson. I think they threw a script in front of a traffic cop they pulled straight off the street.

I don't like to go to malls to begin with, just another good excuse to avoid them. But unfortunatley this will hurt the retailers.

Yeah, the same people who will be too afraid to go to the mall are the same ones who drive while yacking on their cell phones drinking coffee running red lights. There are more chances for accidents doing that than getting bombed by the bogie man.
