Nap time for Fred!
From Thinkprogress:
Former Sen. Fred Thompson, speaking in Iowa today, declared that Iraq did indeed have WMDs prior to the U.S. invasion. The Des Moines Register reports:
[Thompson] was certain former Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein had weapons of mass destruction prior to the 2003 U.S.-led invasion of Iraq, a point of contention in the 4.5 years since the war began.
“We can’t forget the fact that although at a particular point in time we never found any WMD down there, he clearly had had WMD. He clearly had had the beginnings of a nuclear program,” the former Tennessee senator told an audience of about 60 at a Newton cafe.
Apparently, Thompson is as delusional as President Bush, who privately insisted through April 2006 that Saddam possessed weapons of mass destruction. The Iraq Survey Group conclusively proved otherwise.
Keep it up making us laugh, Fred!

The ISG report detailed TONS of nanosphere aluminum powder missing from Iraqi rocket programs. Whatcha think thermite & thermate is made of?
No I'm not taking up for Fred.
I think the joke on Fred is that he is forgetting the forge docs from Niger, Joe Wilson's trip to Niger, the Iraq propaganda, and the truth that we were hookwinked to think that Iraq needed to be invaded in order to remove Saddam by the liar-in-chief. That's what makes Fred's comments a very delusional and unpolished candidate.
Can't get hookwinked again...
I sure hope Plame/Wilson get another shot, but we tend to look at past scandals as if they were a boogie man in the rear view mirror and we are speeding on ahead.
Love your blog!
Give em hell SPB

Anon:
It's not over for the Wilsons in their civil lawsuit. With some much more that is coming out on President Cheney, the Gerbil, McRove, and so on, they have another shot to nail them. The convicted felon Libby will be broke with his attorney fees from his criminal and now civil case. He may have gotten a commute from the idiot but he is branded with a capitol F: Felon! But, the Wilsons should seek another judge in their case since we know that the judge that denied their lawsuit to go forward has a conflict of interest with Cheney's prior case not too long ago.
And thanks for the compliment! Cheers!
Break out the tin foil! Let's waste some bandwidth and see if anonymous can define "nanosphere" accurately.
