No kidding, the Gerbil always has an audience and introducer that will play nice with him, and if not the Secret service will be all over that individual who can't play nice immediately if not sooner.
Anyone going to any Gerbil event must have an authentic W sticker in their window, or Bush/Cheney bumper sticker on their vehicle, and it has to look like it's been there for a while. Seriously I when I see these stickers on someone's car, I have to wonder about that individual, these are the diehard Gerbil fans you want at all the events.
The cartoon makes a good point. The Gerbil has to pay his way if not it's a no show or boos and trash.
I loved the time Bush paid people with children to hold signs saying they were Hispanic supporting him. When a reported asked on Mother with child where she was from she said Texas but she wasn't Spanish but was paid to hold the sign and doesn't speak Spanish. She said on TV that a Republican person came to a meeting held in her town and offered $1,000 per person to cheer for Bush. She said no one was Hispanic the man said it's ok just don't speak English just cheer Bush. There's been alot of Taxpayers money being paid to fake cheers but I guess $1,000 cash was worth holding a sign.

Hey, welcome to the Soviet Union or Myanmar, where supporters are arranged, bought, and paid off.
