From Crooks and Liars:
We’ve joked that Weekly Standard Editor/PNAC signatory/Fox News Contributer William “The Bloody” Kristol is a soulless vampire, but he obviously wants to leave no doubt in our mind.
Listen to him on the subject of the SCHIP Amendment:
KRISTOL: First of all, whenever I hear anything described as ‘a heartless assault on our children,’ I tend to be…think it’s a pretty good thing…
WALLACE: I think a lot of our viewers would not be surprised to hear that…
KRISTOL: ...I’m happy that the President’s willing to do something bad for the kids. You do wonder about the Democrats, putting a 12 year old, I mean, how pathetic is that? A 12-year-old kid giving the radio address, Nancy Pelosi pretending she’s praying for the President. You really wonder how stupid they think the American people are. This is…look, poor children are covered by Medicaid, this was to cover children from 100% to 200% over poverty. The Democrats are now extending it up over 300% above the poverty line.
If you think you need to help children and families over 200% - 300% over poverty line, which is already double to triple over poverty, you can do two ways: expand government insurance or make it easier for families to buy private insurance. Republicans want to try to make it easier through the tax code for families to get private insurance; Democrats want to expand government insurance. I think it’s a good philosophical fight for Republicans, if they can explain the issue well enough that the Democrats can’t simply get away with demagoguery.

Yeah, I've been praying for the pathetic gerbil, too, praying that he isn't nearly as stupid and evil as I think he is.
Off the subject, did anyone else catch Justice Thomas on "60 Minutes?" They ran the show an extra 30 minutes because of their interview with him.
He came across as very believable. But, I remember the Anita Hill stuff when he happened, and she certainly came across as being very believable, too.
For once, the cat has no idea what to make of any of that and no clear opinion.
Kittybowtie:
I watched Justice Thomas on 60 minutes.
And I am sure Jackie will have her opinion about this, if she saw Thomas, and fill in the potholes.
From the interview, Thomas sounded like a very angry man with alot of issues to iron out. And this is first for him to talk more about his grandfather. Back then, he talked more about his mother. Anyway, I remembered the Anita Hill/Thomas hearing clearly 16 years ao. It was more of he said she said. I cannot give an opinion to who was lying and wh who was truthful. But, that was very contraversial hearing and accusation by Ms. Hill.
But, my opinion of Justice Thomas is this:
I don't care what nationality he is. But some of his decisions on the SCOTUS is very contraversial and some that I don't agree upon. I don't what is going on with Thomas but there is a lot issues inside of the Supreme Court among the judges that may be causing him to maybe take a look in the mirror.
Ok Clarence Thomas is feeling guilty because he was given everything the two most important people in his life had and he turned his back on them and his race. Clarence wasn't qualified to be a Justice because of lack of experience. Daddy Bush knew he needed a yes man who was black so Clarence fit the bill. Yes things are happening in the Supreme Court that will destroy Woman's Rights and Civil Rights. He realizes he will have to answer to all his sins and in his way he's trying to justify his actions. He is a very angry man as he knows he let his Mother, GrandFather and his race down.
Everyone at an older age starts thinking about their life and the past. Clarence was told from a very young age not to look at White woman because of the deaths of people like Emmitt Till and so many others of that time. Clarence benefited from the Civil Rights Bill but was chosen by Ronald Reagan to get other blacks in the Republican party. Yes Daddy Bush picked him because again the GOP needed a black face to calm the African Americans.
Yes Clarence sold out his race and his family. Now it's to late to become the man he promised his GrandFather he would.
I am one year older then Clarence but I was raised not to be prejustice. I was raised during that time to like who ever I wanted to.
