89.6 million:

The number of Americans under the age of 65 who "had no health insurance for some or all of 2006 and 2007, according to a study released Thursday by Families USA, an advocacy group for the uninsured. The number is "almost double the number of uninsured reported by the Census Bureau for 2006."

Very sad..

As the US gives 2 billion dollars a week to Iraq we aren't caring for children or soldiers in the USA. The children are our future and now it's doesn't look bright. The isn't very important to the GOP their more interested in what MoveOn.org is saying.

People without health insurance don't see doctors and eventually go to the ER where they can't be refused years later and then are usually found with now very costly conditions that could have been treated when they were very treatable, if they were able to see a doctor sooner.
This will come to a head in a year or so, and then he will be able to blame the next administration.
