A September report on military and political progress in Iraq is expected to recommend pulling back some US troops, although officials in the Bush administration and the military have acknowledged that political benchmarks in Iraq have not been achieved, the Los Angeles Times reports.
Despite Bush’s repeated statements that the report will reflect evaluations by Petraeus and Ryan Crocker, the U.S. ambassador to Iraq, administration officials said it would actually be written by the White House, with inputs from officials throughout the government.

Bush has told yet another lie.
Liar liar pants on fire.
Let's see what the GOP does with the Sept. report. Will they follow the orders of the people they represent or follow the Liar-in-Chief. General Petraeus will most likely be replaced so that a new General can give the White House 6 months more in Iraq. 9 more soldiers died today in Iraq.
