From Raw Story:
Hours after Karl Rove announced he would leave the White House, political observers began predicting where the political guru would next work his magic.
Speculation centered on Fred Thompson's campaign, which observers said would be a logical next step for "Bush's brain." Rove was the mastermind behind President Bush's two successful White House runs.
"What did surprise me was that several of my colleagues -- who know this administration better than me -- believe Rove is done for good," wrote Sharon Gigsby at a Dallas Morning News blog. "I still wouldn't be surprised to find him in the Fred Thompson campaign. Maybe taking him on would be a death wish by a GOP candidate ... but Rove has a knack for getting out of tight spots and re-emerging in an even better place."
Fox news hosts and reporters also discussed the possibility of a Rove-Thompson team-up before the 2008 campaign.
Callers to the Fox News Radio program "Brian and The Judge" were predicting 9-to-1 that Rove would join Thompson's team, Judge Andrew Napolitano said in a televised interview.
"We heard Thompson," Napolitano said. "The timing is perfect, because Thompson's about to announce in early September, and Rove will be gone in late August."
Later in the day, Fox News reporter Carl Cameron, who is covering the presidential campaign, told viewers that Rove met with Thompson's former campaign chief of staff two weeks ago and also has spoken to advisers with other campaigns.
Thompson's campaign already counts among its advisers Tim Griffin, a former Rove protege who also played a role in the US Attorney-firing scandal.
On a side note: The last Rasmussen Reports poll on Rove, conducted in February of this year, found that 29% of American voters had a favorable opinion of him while 49% had an unfavorable view. Those figures include 8% with a Very Favorable opinion and 28% with a Very Unfavorable

As I mentioned before, McRove is not out of the woods. So, hold off on the balloons and cake. Me thinks that Daddy Bush had a long talk with his incompentent son over his vacation. Daddy is focusing on legacy. The clown President is focusing on loyalty. Rest assured that both Daddy Bush and the clown are protecting their main asset that could bring them both down: Cheney. Also, if this is true that McRove is planning a move to Frederick of Hollywood campaign, then this is simply a political strategy cooked by Bush and company to make sure another GOP is President of 2008 to continue the GOP legacy to stay the course in Iraq.

Rove is bound to show up doing what Rove does best in some capacity.
I think that's part of it, Biloxi....
However I believe the main reason, is Rove just got tipped off that he's on the hook for an entire litany of serious criminal charges.
And he decided it was time to get out of dodge very fast....
Sealed V. Sealed part 2? Is it time for Round two in the CIA leak case yet.....
Jack Abramoff, US Attorney firings, school election fraud, American Turkish Council, que bono?
Only the all-knowing Fitz knows and sees which cards are being played......
Gonzales is on the hook for impeachment charges too.
Well, it looks like Roger got out of the funny farm for a while again.
Where is the hot sauce?
