From TPMmuckraker:
Today, White House counsel Fred Fielding wrote Patrick Fitzgerald in an effort to clear this up. When the president said "supervised release," he meant it, no matter if that clashes with the law. The president's commutation power would "unmistakably govern," Fielding wrote. You can read the letter here
And how interesting that the Fielding would write Fitzgerald a letter explaining why Bush decided to commute Libby's sentence when this is the same President that bypassed the law, Justice Department, and even the Special Counsel illegally to commute Libby after the appellate court's decision on July 2.
On a side note: notice Fielding's letter to Fitzgerald was dated July 6. And when did the commuter-in-chief let Scooter skate illegally?: July 2.

Interesting position the White House Fitz is put in. Now the White House is telling Fitz what the idiot meant. Does Fitz follow a criminal act and direction or does he stick to the law. I notice no one from the White House contacted Fitz before the idiot President gave his illegal order. Judge Walton is till the Judge of the Court. He makes the decision not Fitz. The White House council might want to give that order to the court. As for the Appeals Judges well the Dictator could care less what they think or say. The Gerbil is showing that he is totally out of control and will sink himself.
