Bag Lady Miers To Invoke Executive Privilege

From Talkleft:

You read that right. Harriet Miers, proving herself unversed in the law, accepts her lawyer's erroneous statements:

Ms. Miers has no choice other than to comply with direction given her by Counsel to the president in his letters mentioned above. This is particularly so because, as the members of the Committee are aware, the assertion of the privilege in this circumstance is supported by the thorough and reasoned opinion of the Solicitor General of the United States...

And I certainly didn't know that an ex-White House counsel can invoke executive privilege. Seems like the White House is handing out free executive privilege cards to any White House employee that commits a crime.

Now with all the White House staff getting executive privilege looks like Nixon and Clinton don't rate. Two Presidents can't get executive privilege for criminal investigations yet Bag Lady Miers can. To bad Bush didn't do that for Libby, there would have been no trial. As is with the 5th Amenment Miers is guilty and Bush will make all his staff look guilty with this action.
When we have a new President one can only wonder what the GOP will say when this situation turns up.

Sheesh and she was nominated to be on the SCOTUS? We dodged a bullet that time-not that the other picks were any better...
