From Thinkprogress:
In the “biggest school desegregation ruling in more than a decade,” the Supreme Court today ruled 5-4 to reject public school assignment plans “that take account of students’ race.” The AP reports:
The decision in cases affecting schools in Louisville, Ky., and Seattle could imperil similar plans in hundreds of districts nationwide, and it leaves public school systems with a limited arsenal to maintain racial diversity. …
[The case] was led by parents challenging the way race is used to assign students to schools for the purpose of integration.

We are seeing the beginning of the end. Most young people only read about the hate and prejudice in the United States. We have come so far and so many people have died for the freedoms to all Americans only to watch Cheney bring back the past. Now Americans will have to fight again for the freedoms given to other Americans. This time it will be interesting as their are more minority Americans so the out come might not take as long. I'm glad I was able to live for 43 years of the Freedoms our founding fathers spoke about. As eduction will no longer be available to all maybe other countries will set up a system to help with educating the American youth who will be left behind.
Strange thing about education as George W. Bush was given the best the US had but didn't use it and became President anyway. I always wondered why the Republicans didn't make hanging illegal I guess they knew the Cheney plan. All the pieces fit now as the 6 year mission will soon be completed. I'd want my grandchildren educated overseas and not subjected to American prejudice. I'm glad my kids never learned racism or prejudice and I hope their not infected by the new Cheney policy.
