It turns out that a pair of pants is not worth $54-million dollars.
A Washington, D.C. judge has ruled against Roy Pearson, who sued his dry cleaners because he says they lost his pants. Pearson was also ordered to pay back court costs.
The dry cleaners he sued are the Chungs, immigrants from South Korea, who are jubilant about the decision and held a news conference at their D.C. store.Pearson claimed he was entitled to the $54 million because the Chungs lost his pants despite a sign in their window that read: "Satisfaction Guaranteed."
But in a straightforward, 24-page ruling, the court rejected that argument.Pearson also happens to be a judge himself, and didn't return INSIDE EDITION's phone calls.
The Chungs' attorney says he expects Pearson to appeal, so the case of the $54 million dollar pants may not be over just yet.
Meanwhile, the Chungs are asking the court to force Pearson to pay the thousands of dollars in legal fees they've spent defending themselves.
