This morning, during an interview with First Lady Laura Bush, CNN highlighted World Refugee Day and the effect that the war in Iraq has had on the number of refugees around the world. CNN reported Iraqis “who were helping the Americans or even helping their own country” are now targeted and must seek “refuge in other nations, as well as the United States.”
Bush responded saying, “Obviously we’re especially concerned about the Iraqi refugees.” She added, “We welcome many of those refugees, both from Iraq and Afghanistan into the United States.”
The First Lady is greatly exaggerating the administration’s policy.
The First Lady is greatly exaggerating the administration’s policy.
As the Baltimore Sun notes today, “as of May, only 69 Iraqis had entered the United States” this fiscal year. In total, the United States has “resettled fewer than 500 Iraqi refugees” since the invasion of Iraq in 2003.

"laura's chip hasn't been functional since she said, i do."
Bummer, huh?
Laura is working hard for the extra 10 million George is giving her. What's sad is she openly lies on TV. Now Sweden has taken 15,000 Iraqis and are really for 200,000 more. Yet the Chip First Lady can't remember that only 700 Iraqis have let in the US. A large number of Iraq people who helped the US were turned away or told your on your own. So when you wonder why Iraq people don't like the US it's because Bush/Cheney used them and then left them to be killed for doing it.
Laura's chip has never worked, killed her teenage boyfriend was the first sign of malfunction.
