Finally, we know Libby's fate in his guilty verdict back in March. Judge Walton basically threw the book at Libby. Walton didn't buy the beans about his memory loss defense. And certainly Walton was less than positive to the fact that Libby defense lawyer, Ted Wells, hoodwinked Walton, the court, and the prosecution team into assuming that Libby would take the stand. Libby wasted 2 1/2 months of the court's time to demand classified documents for his defense. I am sure Walton never forgotten that. Judge Walton certainly lived up to his standards as a tough judge today that takes no bullshit especially from someone like Libby who is an attorney. That is why Walton was much harsher on Libby. Libby is an attorney and he should have known better to try to manipulate the court and the judicial system. Here is the recap:
Libby received 30 months for obstruction of justice, but he received 15 months on other charges. The sentences will be served concurrently. And there will be a hearing by Walton tomorrow at 1:30 pm ET to decide whether Libby will reamin free on appeal. Libby now learn his fate in his criminal case and he will learn his fate in the Wilsons' civil case. That decision will be in 30 days. A huge loss for Libby in this criminal case but a good egg for Wilsons and their attorneys.
The real questions that are left are:
1. What will be the reaction from the White House?
2. Will the President pardon Libby?
And we know all eyes will be the White House and their handling of Libby. But regardless of what President Bush's decision is with Scooter Libby, there will be an endless dark cloud over the Bush Administration and on Richard B. Cheney(the real mastermind). And President Bush is in a real pickle to choose loyality vs.legacy.

I wish it were longer, but very good news anyway!!
Will they cut it down to 6 months if he behaves himself then?
Miss you Biloximan. ( ;
Hey Patriot Girl:
We miss you around here. I think the whole gang will be back next week.
Well, remember Libby is sentencing 30 months for the obstruction of justice and 15 months of other charges. So, six months in prison for the little soldier is out. Let's not forget if the CIA case is reopened again with a special counsel. Then, Libby can be charged with treason. So, that is another charge added to Libby. And if he gets treason, Libby won't see life beyond a jail cell.
Yay! - I will look forward to the treason charge!
I like the new Avatar (new 2 me I guess). I don't get much time to stop in lately but I will keep trying when I get the chance. Good to hear from you.
Patriot Girl:
Libby would have to do 80% of his time in jail. This is according to legal experts. Since he is sentencing to 2 1/2 years for obstruction of justice and 15 moths of other charges concurrently, he will be in jail more than 6 months!
