Government vs. Palfrey

This is the government's allegations:

Deborah Jeane Palfrey, former owner of Pamela Martin and Associates, is accused by the government of running a prostitution service in Washington D.C. She has been charged with operating a house of prostitution.

From Ms. Palfrey defense fund website:

Deborah J. (Jeane) Palfrey’s assets and entire life’s savings were seized by the Internal Revenue Service, on October 4, 2006, without notice. This was done via the civil asset forfeiture process and based upon the government’s allegations that Ms. Palfrey had operated a prostitution business, in the Washington D.C. metropolitan area, from 1993 through August of 2006, when she ceased operation and retired.

Ms. Palfrey adamantly disputes the government’s claims of illegal behavior. The business, Pamela Martin and Associates®, functioned as a high-end adult fantasy firm which offered legal sexual and erotic services across the spectrum of adult sexual behavior and did so without incident during its 13 year tenure.

Here is an excerpt of Ms. Palfrey's interview on 20/20:

Jeane Palfrey: We charge a flat 275 for an hour and a half. Were you looking to perhaps book an appointment this evening? How may I help you? And then we would take it from there.

Her name is Jeane Palfrey and over the course of 13 years, she says she fielded thousands of calls from some of Washington's most prominent men.

Men who answered ads for what was known as Pamela Martin and Associates, offering sophisticated, college-educated, attractive women.

Transcript of the"20/20" Report on Jeane PalfreyKnown as the D.C. Madam.

I have read all of Ms. Palfrey's legal documents on her defense fund website. What you all are not aware is that Ms. Palfrey wrote to Alberto Gonzales requesting an Independent Counsel into her case. I had posted her legal document to Gonzo in May on the blog.

Here is an excerpt of her legal document dated May 6, 2007 on Ms. Palfrey's defense fund website:

In the interim, approximately 20% of the telephone records of the escort service were turned over to Brian Ross of ABC News. As you are doubtlessly aware, last Friday, Brian Ross, in the publically available transcript of his 20/20 report, is quoted as stating: “The phone records trace back to thousands of men, including a career Justice Department prosecutor.”

As said from yesterday's posting, there are alot of prominent leaders in the government that are on the Palfrey's list. As more pertinent information on Ms. Palfrey's case surfaces, I will be posting updates along with legal documents on the blog.

On a side note, I have posted several of Ms. Palfrey's latest of her case along with legal documents. I will link some of the old postings to any current updates.

Good information SPB.
But I have a question for you.
If this ladies business was illegal didn't the career Justice Department prosecutor know that as he would have known. With the names of the people using her service it would be hard to say these men were clue less. In most States the business and those using the business are arrested.
