Life is like a box of chocolates...

you never know what you will get. I got a surprise today that was unexpected. I met with Jason Leopold for lunch today for a brief lunch. I had to fit him into my tight schedule today. No, folks he wasn't dress in the suit and tie. His look was the same look when I first met Jason: the typical Californian. What you saw in his interview with Iglesias is his professional dress attire. LOL!
Anyway, he gave me a copy of his book, News Junkie. That book was on my list to buy online among several other books. He autographed the book. He writes in the book and and I quote:
"Thank you for your support this past year. I will never forget it. You are a true friend."
Jason Leopold
My message on this posting is not to brag about getting something from someone and expecting something in return. It is giving back to someone without expecting something in return. You don't get rewarded in life until you serve people. It is too bad that own Administration haven't done this in 6 1/2 years. Greed has taken over character at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. I had remembered my mentor told me that people don't care how much you know. People want to know how much you care.

Read the book--if I wouldn't get every crazed parent complaining, I would make it required reading of every high school student and not tell them why. That would keep them off drugs. Forget the D.A.R.E. program; it does not work that well. Give high school kids "News Junkie" and let them make their own conclusions without adults trying to cram anything into their heads. They would choose on their own not to get involved with drugs.

I would have kids read "Cut," too and kids would make their own conclusions not to participate in self-destructive actions.

I will start reading the book tomorrow evening. I am currently reading a self-development book. So, I will be reading both books at the same time. Yes, Jason did tell me that the book is hardcore about his past drug problems. Yeah forget the D.A.R.E. program. More like Scare Straight program.

I remembered meeting a guy who told me that the age of 16 to 35 that he was heavily into drugs, Heroin, and so on. He became heavily into drugs because of insecurity. Of course, he cleaned his act up and got married and has a son. Drugs is major problem among kids today. I will start the book tomorrow. When Jason told me at our first lunch meeting on how heavy he was years ago into drugs, I told him that there more people out there with stories that are far worse than his. Everyone has a story. But, how did that person overcome that problem.

He told me yesterday that he still continues to get hate email from nimrods. Many of them still talk about his past and others criticize him for his sealed vs. sealed article last year. But, I said to him that he has to expect that what he did in his past will never be erased. There are lot of people looking to bring him down and find a weakness. And Jason's weakness is his past unfortunately. And that what he has to deal with on a daily basis.
