Hmmm. Here is a thought

Here is an email from Waxman's website of an email exchange from Jack Abramoff to Kevin Ring on followup contacts. One of the contacts was to Dick Cheney. The subject is about Qatar.

It had me wondering to why Cheney had his logs destroyed? Yeah, Cheney's lawyer instructed the Secret Service to destroy data on who visited his official residence at the Naval Observatory, saying that the information was protected by the Presidential Records Act. Was any names in connection to Jack Abramoff on that log? Hmmm. I wonder...

Here is a bit of information to connect:

During the summer of 2001, Congressman Dana Rohrabacher (who was also close friends to Abramoff) made a trip to Qatar that was paid for by the Islamic Institute and the Government of Qatar, according to Rohrabacher’s financial disclosure forms. While in Qatar, Rohrabacher, Grover Norquist, and Khaled Saffuri met with Taliban Foreign Minister Mullah Wakil Ahmed Muttawakil. Wakil reportedly asked for help in increasing the amount of foreign aid sent by the United States to Afghanistan, apparently in exchange for U.S. oil company UNOCAL being allowed to construct of an oil pipeline through Afghanistan.

UNOCAL, huh.. Well, we know that Hamid Karzai, President of Afghanistan, was a former consultant and adviser for UNOCAL.

08Feb2002 PAKISTAN: Pakistan, Afghan leaders agree to revive pipeline. (incorporates earlier ENERGY-TURKMENISTAN-PIPELINE from ASHGABAT)

ISLAMABAD, Feb 8 (Reuters) - Afghanistan's interim leader Hamid Karzai said on Friday he and Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf had agreed to revive a plan for a trans-Afghan gas pipeline from Turkmenistan to Pakistan.

"Both sides have agreed that the construction of this pipeline will be very beneficial for both the countries as well as for the entire region," Karzai told a news conference after talks with General Musharraf. "We both have agreed on this," he said, calling the project "very essential".

UNOCAL is connected to Karzai who advised UNOCAL to build oil pipeline through Afghanistan. Halliburton KBR received a no bid contract that allowed KBR to pump and distribute Iraqi oil. And who benefited from this in profit? Dick Cheney.
