Girl Friday Rice panhandles for Spitman's job

Rice has been lobbying fellow foreign ministers in a bid to help embattled World Bank chief Paul Wolfowitz keep his job, her spokesman said Thursday.

Wolfowitz, a former senior US official and one of the architects of the Iraq war, has been under intense and growing pressure to resign after the revelation last month that he engineered a massive pay hike and promotion for his companion, Shaha Riza, a World Bank employee.
