“Rep. Juanita Millender-McDonald (D-Calif.), 68, who’d taken leave from Congress after being diagnosed with cancer, died Sunday, a congressional source said. … Millender-McDonald had been serving her seventh term in Congress. She was the first African-American woman to chair the House Administration Committee. She has five children and several grandchildren.”
There may be a special election to fill Ms. McDonald's seat.

RIP, McDonald.
Let's hope for a special election and not a gropinator appointment.
I really doubt it, Chicago Native. That area that McDonald represented is predominantly Democrat, a real strong Democratic city according to some of my collegues. I am sure that people in that area will make sure that the Gropinator will not have his way.
