Newsinking.org: My Summation of Waxman's hearings

Newsinkling.org just posted my article that I had written about Waxman's hearings on Friday. Here is the article:

Congressman and Chairman of the Oversight and Reform committee, Henry Waxman presented his hearings into the examination into exposure of former covert CIA agent Valerie Plame Wilson's identity.

I had watched the entire webcast yesterday. I was very moved by Ms. Wilson’s testimony and hearing her side of the story since the entire CIA Leak case was centered on her. But, I was hit with some shocking, stunning, and misinforming testimonies from other witnesses in the hearings.

Former CIA agent Ms. Wilson testified on Friday that her "career path was terminated prematurely." She could no longer work that she was trained to do such as traveling overseas because her cover was blown. She said that her name and identity were carelessly and recklessly abused by senior officials in the White House and State Department. She accused the Administration of deliberately punished her husband by leaking her covert name. Here an excerpt of Ms. Wilson’s testimony of her employment:

Ms. Wilson: “In the run-up to the war with Iraq, I worked in the Counter proliferation Division of the CIA, still as a covert officer whose affiliation with the CIA was classified.” While I helped to manage and run secret worldwide operations against this Weapons of Mass Destruction target from CIA headquarters in Washington, I also traveled to foreign countries on secret missions to find vital intelligence.”

Yes, you have to feel for Ms. Plame. I know this will change her life and career forever, it's sad.

Yes, and Joe Wilson, the Wilson's two children, and Patrick Fitzgerald. When the Wilsons decided to speak out against the abuse of power of the Administration, their lives will change forever. When Fitzgerald had to guts to include Dick Cheney's name and Dick's handwitten notes of Wilson Op-Ed article to expose a much questionable role of Dick into a WH conspiracy, his life and career will change forever. It is the people that separate themselves from the mass that refuse the mediocrity of life that will make changes in this country.
