This is truly a shame...

Statistics From Health Ministry Official Show Tripling of Civilian, Police Deaths

BAGHDAD, Jan. 7 -- More than 17,000 Iraqi civilians and police officers died violently in the latter half of 2006, according to Iraqi Health Ministry statistics, a sharp increase that coincided with rising sectarian strife since the February bombing of a landmark Shiite shrine.
In the first six months of last year, 5,640 Iraqi civilians and police officers were killed, but that number more than tripled to 17,310 in the latter half of the year, according to data provided by a Health Ministry official with direct knowledge of the statistics. The official, who spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to release the information, said those numbers remained incomplete, suggesting the final tally of violent deaths could be higher.

More on the story.

What's really said is not many Americans care that thousands of innocent Iraq people were killed by US bombs. Yes Iraq is in a civil war and the Sunnies are killing the Shites but no one says a word about the thousands that were killed by US. Rummy said stuff happens and I noticed that Israel says the same thing the US says when they kill woman/children. Sorry until we kill again. I pray for the innocent dead plus the people that our troops tortured, burned and rapped. This invasion has made the US look no better then those we say are evil. No one values life anymore. Connie Rice calls our dead soldiers investments for stolen oil and control of Iraq. Yes it puts Israel in the position to attack Iran with the help of the US. Prime Minister Maliki is Bush's puppet and giving his country to the United States criminals Bush/Cheney. Daddy Bush got his share of the Iraq oil as did Halliburton and some GOP.
