Coulter and Hannity received a Razzie award in journalism

Hannity, Coulter earned second, third place in Olbermann's "Worst Person" segment

On the August 31 edition of MSNBC's Countdown, host Keith Olbermann awarded Fox News host Sean Hannity and right-wing pundit Ann Coulter second and third place, respectively, in his nightly "Worst Person in the World" segment.

Olbermann recognized Coulter for her August 30 syndicated column titled, "They Shot the Wrong Lincoln" -- a reference to Sen. Lincoln Chafee (R-RI), whom she attacked throughout the piece. As Media Matters for America noted, Coulter has previously suggested the killing of other people with whom she disagrees. Olbermann commented: "This is at least the fourth public figure against which she has suggested a physical attack. It's got to be worth a D.A. [district attorney] somewhere indicting her for repeated terroristic threats. Isn't it?" Hannity received the runner-up prize for comments he made on the August 29 edition of his nationally syndicated radio show, in which as Media Matters also noted, he said that "there are things in life worth fighting and dying for, and one of 'em is making sure" that House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi (CA) "doesn't become the speaker" of the House of Representatives.

Way to go Olbermann!
