Hold off on the balloons and beer; Wolfie will not resign today.

ABC News is now reporting that “Paul Wolfowitz will not resign and would rather push the issue of his tenure to a vote by the World Bank board, his lawyer says.” Earlier today, ABC reported that Wolfowitz would likely “resign this afternoon.”

Washington, May 16, 2007 - The Executive Directors of the World Bank Group continued their deliberations on issues raised by the report of the Ad Hoc Group and in their meetings with Mr Wolfowitz yesterday.

They will continue their deliberations tomorrow morning (Thursday May 17).
