House Democrats will bring a minimum wage increase bill before the floor at the start of the 110th congress that will block pay increases for themselves--and Vice President Dick Cheney--RAW STORY has learned.
It is expected to become law barring presidential veto.
The bill is planned as part of a series of legislative steps taken by the House leadership to fulfill a promise to block congressional cost of living adjustments until the minimum wage has been lifted. The wage has not been raised since an increase signed by President Bill Clinton took effect on September 1, 1997.
More on the story.

Yes they are acting responibly considering for the last decade minimum wage has been 5.15, which in no way shape or form would be enough considering how much the cost of living has gone up in just the last 6 years alone. Most States are higher than that, but it will just help people who can't get out of a hole have some hope. $5.15 and hour that is 210 dollars a week, 840 a month, you would have to share a efficiency apartment from a slum landlord with someone in order to eat, at that kind of money.
Even if Congress pass mimimum wage statewide to be 9 bucks a hour, that salary will never catch up to the C.O.L. Jobs are not made for that.. People's lifestyles rely on the credit card.. It will help but not much.. The Gerbil killed people's dream of the American dream... But, it will long road to recover...
Well deficit spending is why bankruptcies are up. The credit card companies have such high rates, and finance charges, and late fees etc. that this will not hurt them. It's unfortunate people have to rely on deficit spending to live. I hate credit cards and only have one for emergencies, and on line purchases and refuse to carry a balance, I don't want to get into that rut, even if I have get my wardrobe at Target, oh ya, I do that anyhow! Well mostly! And then all these women show up to Laura's little Christmas event in the same outfit!? Such a descrepency in the price some people pay for clothes and others, not like we are even in the same country!

People have to because there is no such thing anymore as a honest dollar, In order words, you pay 1 dollar for an item and you get your money's worth.. Because a job doesn't create a lifestyle for a person and keep up with the C.O.L., that is why the credit cards have been so attractive.. But, I hear you about credit cards. But, remember, it has become a lifestyle for people. Not putting down credit cards. But, you have an income that can pay all of your balances off the credit card and/or you know how to use the credit card wisely, then that is fine.. Credit cards have become more glamorized these days.
As far Laura and his mishap on wearing the red dress, my thing is that there is nothing wrong with pay for a $8,000 dress if that floats your boats and as long as you are paying for this dress out of your pocket and no on the taxpayers expense. Then, that is fine. The Gerbil family has flaunted their lifestyle and parties in front of the American people's faces a lot.. And that 40 million dollars expense for the the Gerbil's event was on tax payer money. He didn't need to have an expensive event like that nor Laura's different wardrobes. .Who in the hell she is: Diana Ross???
